Structural improvements and Cat A and Cat B fit-out of Virgin Management’s offices.

Project Description

Whitfield Studios combined essential structural intervention with the creation of a completed headquarters environment within a dense central London setting, presenting acute logistical and acoustic challenges. Bringing Cat A infrastructure and Cat B workplace requirements into one programme meant coordinating the base building, services, interior fit-out, and operational needs as an integrated whole rather than as separate packages. The work called for disciplined sequencing, strict procurement, and decisive commercial control within a defined one-year programme. The result was not simply an office fit-out, but a comprehensive renewal of the building fabric and the working environment delivered smoothly under a traditional JCT contract.

On completion the building achieved an EPC A rating, an uncommon outcome for the refurbishment of an existing 1970s concrete-framed building in central London rather than a new build.
