How we work
We are appointed by the owner and act only in the owner’s interest. We work alongside the appointed team, not in place of it, and make sure its advice lines up and turns into decisions the owner can stand behind. Most clients keep us on across several projects or a portfolio, which is where we add most value.
What we do
- StrategyHelping owners weigh their options and choose the right path before money is committed, whether for a single building, a project or a wider portfolio. This often starts with a one-off assessment of a site, a scheme or a team before you commit.
- DefinitionTurning an idea into a project that can actually be delivered: objectives, brief, early due diligence and the right team, put together with a realistic view of risk.
- GovernanceClear routes for decisions and accountability, so the owner stays informed and in control as the project moves on.
- OversightThrough design, procurement and construction we bring programme, cost, risk and the interests of everyone involved into one view for the owner, so the consequences of each decision are understood before it is made.
- OperationsProtecting the long-term value of the building: capital planning, asset reviews, insurance, maintenance and lifecycle cost, with the operator’s needs built in from the start. Some owners keep us on retainer across several assets, called on as needed.
- Special situationsIndependent advice where more scrutiny is needed: acquisitions, heritage buildings, developments with sensitive stakeholders, and projects that have drifted and need bringing back on course.
Where we have particular depth
- Boutique and luxury hotelsNew builds, restorations, repositionings and refurbishments for hotel owners, with the operator involved from day one.
- Remote and demanding sitesPrivate islands, mountain and safari sites, where logistics, supply chains, local regulation and live operations shape every decision.
- Heritage and sustainabilityRestoring buildings worth keeping, and building in a way that lasts, always weighed against commercial performance.
